You guys! It has been a whirlwind of a year! In 2018 I’ve moved to a new state, managed two studios, one in CA and one in Utah, started a new niche of photography in a new state (www.christinesaraportrait.com), a new community, where I’ve had to start all my relationships from scratch. Which has actually been amazing! I got married this year. That’s been amazing and challenging too. It’s been a huge year for self discovery and growth. There’s been failure but without failure there is no growth, right?
You know, I love to travel. Especially for shoots. There is something about going to a new place and getting to shoot there. It’s one of the most inspirational parts of my career. Traveling back and forth from LA to Park City 1-2 times a month has changed my perspective on a lot of things.
- I’ve become a minimalist traveler. When I pack my bag, I don’t pick “maybe” items. I usually stick to one color scheme for the most part. I’ve learned how to get from the front of the airport to my gate in like 10 minutes this way. Oh and having Clear helps. Best thing ever, bye bye security lines!
- I’ve become more minimal in my work. I use to prop the heck out of everything and spend hours and hours in photoshop. I’ve grown a lot in my sense of style especially with newborn shoots.
Lifestyle Newborn Family Photography (Ditching the props)
It’s the new 2019 for Christine Sara Photography. I’m ditching the bean bag and the props for the most part and focusing on Motherhood, family moments, and those first moments together. I am focusing on creating timeless images. I think over the years I’ve really tried to achieve images that feel timeless, and evoke emotion while creating simplicity. Props are great in minimal and very light usage, but I love the emotion of the moment, that is what’s most important to me. Now when you book a newborn session with me, it will be a lifestyle newborn family photography session in either my Park City, Utah studio or in my Santa Clarita, California studio. I will always travel of course!
What does lifestyle newborn family photography look like?
The style of my work is still similar. Light in color for the most part, paired with moody black and white images. I’ve attached a few images here for you to see what my newborn sessions will looks like for the year.
